I would change remand for mana leak, remand isn't really a counter

Also change the doomblade and the go for the throat for 2 dismember, you can pay them with 1 mana

I may consider changing the Doom Blade for a Dismember because of how little creatures Doom Blade actually hits in this format. GFTT is still relevant though, and is required as a 1 of for this deck to tutor up a single-target kill spell with Gifts Ungiven . Remand is in there as a tempo spell that sets them back a turn, and replaces itself(cantrips). It's staying. Thanks for the Dismember suggestion though! :D

What about Spell Snare ? You can counter pretty much anything relevant (tarmo's, dark confidant, ratchet, pod, etc) even counters for 1 mana.

I have a pseudo-Snare in the form of Inquisition of Kozilek . Anything relevant that comes down early that I'd want to counter, I can just take with Inquisition on turn 1. Spell Snare could be good in the sideboard though. I'll get to testing it, and I'll get back to you on it.

I like the deck, but in all honesty I up-voted for the sideboard.
