Sultai Commanders and Leaders —April 25, 2020
I thought I would like Sultai, since I like all the colors that make it up, but man, most of these commanders suck… And Leovold was banned. Still, two of them were worth a second glance.
I feel like my reasons for liking Damia are pretty obvious. For one thing, I’ll never have less than seven cards for more than a turn, and if I manage to play out my hand, I don’t need to worry about not having anything to play on my next turn (I mean, I guess I could draw 7 lands, but... ¯_(?)_/¯ ). I see the potential for a pretty interesting chaosy playstyle involving a lot of graveyard shuffling. So Damia makes it onto my list of commander options.
I could see Rayami being amazing in a deck featuring a lot of cheap creatures, which is great since I need half the deck to be 3-cost or less. She’s also a nice counter to flicker effects. My only gripe with her is that she can’t be made unblockable.
