Ashling's Evolution Playtest Results —Oct. 26, 2012

I play tested the changes to Ashling and these are the initial results.

Equipment works well, but here are the downsides: equip costs can be burdensome if Ashling is repeatedly exploding. Equipment is not subtle and draws a little more attention than I would care for. Lastly, if Ashling gets tucked or or becomes unplayable by some other effect all equipment becomes dead cards because this deck contains no other creatures.

Card draw worked well and was a great addition; however, Tower of Fortunes is a little slower than I would like due to its high cost. I am pressed for a better option though...

Land destruction is just as mean as I thought it would be and just as effective as I had hoped. Burning Sands was not as powerful as I had thought because my friends play relatively creature light decks and/or very high cost creatures so there are never all that many creatures on the field.

Walking Atlas is a great card in the first several rounds of a game but after turn 10 its a dead draw. I decided to remove all creatures from this deck for the thematic feel as much as the functionality.

More play testing is required. However, I believe I will not add any more equipment but possibly more land destruction. The question of the week is should I add more mana acceleration like Fire Diamond, Worn Powerstone, Sisay's Ring, and Ur-Golem's Eye. Questions and comments are always appreciated!!!

Check back weekly I add an update to at least one of my deck weekly!

For me, general damage is Plan A. The nuke is if things get out of hand.

Which, I might add, happens consistently every game.
