Hello and welcome back to the Lab Maniacs! Our video today features LabManiac_Dan and LabManiac_Sigi, with their (now usual) review of the new set for the purposes of Competitive EDH! We heard your feedback and have adjusted the method by which we review cards in these, discussing only the cards we personally believe will see play in the format. I won’t spoil the video, but there are much fewer cards being reviewed this time around.

Please enjoy the LabManiacs Set Review for Hour of Devastation.

This article is a follow-up to LabManiacs Season 2 Ep 1 The next article in this series is LabManiacs Season 2 Ep 2

The Locust God seems like a lesser competitive option of playing combo than a Thrassios/x deck. Make then go Lab Maniac. The deck lacks another color to be more consistent with the combo tho.

I do think it could be better than Nin.

I think Uncage the Menagerie might see play in certain Yisan lists, but I'm a little doubtful. Being able to tutor up certain pieces might too mana costly.

I think the best part of the locust god is that tokens are generated simply by drawing cards. something like Skullclamp and Phyrexian Altar or Ashnod's Altar would be the way to go imo...a coloured infinite mana combo to use the activated ability is probably harder to pull off.
