Yedora the Grave Gardener and his facedown lands
Asked by Fritzn 2 years ago
So, Yedora, Grave Gardener can bring a creature who dies in the form of a land, my question relates to WHEN he sees it as a creature that dies, is it before it actually hits the graveyard or after? Specifically I'm looking at something like Elvish Reclaimer sacrificing a facedown creature that's a "Land - Forest", once that land is in the graveyard, it's no longer a land, it is a creature again. Would Yedora grab it back and bring him back out as a land?
Followup then... Is there a way to flip the facedown lands besides morph?

Turning them into creatures with something like Living Lands and then an opponent targeting them with Break Open would work. You could also have them change zones and return to the battlefield, such as with Ghostly Flicker .

For leave the battlefield effect like Yedora, Grave Gardener 's you look at how the permanent existed while it was last on the battlefield. It will not normally trigger for the creatures brought back as lands, but can trigger for things that are temporarily creatures like Treetop Village and Chimeric Staff .
