Reverberating Cathartic Reunion

Asked by wolfdwarf 7 years ago

If I use Reverberate on a Cathartic Reunion, what exactly happens?

If the spell is copied, wouldn't every part of it be copied?, including the additional cost clause? Or is the cost clause not really part of the spell and should be thought as of a tacked onto the mana cost?

Because the Oracle text for Reverberate says "You cant choose to pay any additional costs for the copy. However, effects based on any additional costs that were paid for the original spell are copied as though those same costs were paid for the copy too. For example, if a player sacrifices a 3/3 creature to cast Fling, and you copy it with Reverberate, the copy of Fling will also deal 3 damage to its target"

Do I draw 6 cards, after paying the cost of 2 for the original or what? Or draw 6, pay 4. Would the copied Reunion be countered due to not being able to... go through with it since I can't pay the cost?

Pretty sure the answer is simple, I probably just thunk this problem into the ground or something!

Copying a spell does not mean casting it. Therefore, you don't have to pay the additional cost of discarding two cards to Cathartic Reunion . Once Reverberate resolves, you will create a copy of Reunion at the top of the stack. You get to draw three cards from the copy of Reunion you created.
