how does infect, trample and deathtouch work toghther

i know if a creature has deathtouch and trample it does 1 damage to each creature blocking it and then the rest of the damage to the player but what happens if it has infect to?
The exact same happens as with a regular creature, except that the player will take poison counters instead of losing life. If a creature has infect, trample, and deathtouch, is blocked by multiple creatures, and you choose to distribute the damage as stated, then all creatures dealt damage by the creature with death touch will die, and the opponent will take the remaining damage as poison counters.

Trample: You must assign lethal damage to each creature in blocking order before you can assign damage to the next one or the defending player.
Deathtouch: Any amount of damage (IE: 1) from a source with deathtouch is considered lethal.
Infect: Instead of marking damage, put -1/-1 counters on the creature or give that player poison counters.
Infect+deathtouch damage is treated identically to plain deathtouch damage. You would do exactly what Jewrummer said, so here's an illustrated example instead.
You have a Putrefax with Deathtouch from Virulent Swipe , and your opponent blocks with a Signal Pest and Vault Skirge with Tempered Steel , making his creatures 2/3 and 3/3 respectively. When it comes time to assign damage, you will assign 1 damage from the Putrefax to the Signal Pest, 1 to the Vault Skirge, and 7 to the opposing player. When state-based actions are checked, the Skirge and Pest will see that they were dealt damage from a Deathtouch source even though that damage is represented by -1/-1 counters, and immediately die. Your opponent will get 5 poison and your Putrefax will die from the lethal damage it took.
I hope this example helped.

Wait, the 1, 1 and 7 listed equals 9 but Putrefax has 5 and Virulent Swipe adds 2 so where does the other 2 damage come from?

The other 2 damage comes from me changing my example from Phyrexian Hydra to Putrefax at the last minute, and missing that in the proofreading.

Hey all,
I came across this conversation and I am curious what you think would be the case of the blocking creatures were not 1/1s? Since trample, by definition, merely needs to provide "lethal damage" to the blocking creatures before that damage carries over to the player and deathtouch says any amount of damage done to a creature is "lethal," can I assume that you could lethally deal 1 damage to any number of creatures that block a creature (provided they are not indestructible, prevent all damage or something) and the rest would carry over?
Example: Putrefax is equipped with Gorgon Flail and attacking, opponent blocks with 2 Serra Angel . Can Putrefax assign 1 damage to each of the angels as lethal damage and the remaining 4 damage (+1/+1 from the flail) arrive as poison counters on the player...?
Is it fair to assume that if all of the above went down and the Putrefax also had a Sparring Collar the Putrefax would also survive the combat unscathed, kill both the angels AND deliver 4 poison counters to your opponent (although the poor guy is still going to end up being sacked during the end step...?

Never mind, this question was answered in the above example and I just misread it...

Yes, that's exactly how it works. Notice in BrightGreenLine's accepted answer that the blocking creatures in the example situation have more than 1 toughness.

Infect doesn't do anything to affect damage assignment, just the result of damage dealing. Assignment works the same way as a creature without infect.
