How do multiple creatures ETB simultaneously on both sides

Asked by QuirkyOrc398 6 years ago

I was playing a game where a player casts Living Death. I had a Warstorm Surge in play and I got back Angrath's Marauders as well as a bunch of other creatures, giving me lethal damage. Another player got back a bunch of Soul Warden like creatures as well as a Cliffhaven Vampire. He had lethal damage as well. In what order do the triggers go on the stack when entering simultaneously?

Triggered abilities are put on the stack in APNAP order, that is, the player who's turn it is puts their triggers on in whatever order they like, then the next player in turn order does the same. Then, assuming no players are responding, the stack resolves top down, with the last abilities put on the stack resolving first. In other words, if you cast Living Death on your turn, your opponent would win. If they cast it on their turn, they would win. If another player (assuming a multiplayer game here) cast it on their turn, the nearest player to their left with winning triggers would win. The important thing is who's turn it was cast during, but as this is a sorcery I'm assuming it's cast by the player who's turn it is.

Thanks for the answer, it was a third player that cast it and I was farthest away in the turn order.
