Do I win?

Asked by Colten_Lee 9 years ago

Palisade Giant enchanted with Indestructibility and then targeted with Arcbond and Arcbond resolves. If it takes any damage this turn I believe it would result in me winning, bc Arcbond doesn't say, "The next time that creature..." But it says "Whenever that creature is dealt damage..." Creating an infinite chain of damage until my opponent loses. Does it work this way?

Yes, that would work for the reasons you gave.

When damage is dealt to the Palisade Giant it will deal that much damage to each creature and player. All the damage that would be dealt to your creatures and yourself would be dealt to it instead, which would cause another round of Arcbond damage to go out.

This would indeed be extremely likely to result in the death of your opponent presuming they didn't have something else in play that would make them not take the damage, or not lose the game from taking the damage.

If they could prevent the damage with a indestructible palisade guard, it would be a Draw, correct? Since the multiple phases never end, you can't continue the game right? or, if it was casual you could continue to play anyways.

If they also had an indestructible Palisade Giant, or had Angel's Grace or something that made the game not end, there is a loop composed of only mandatory actions, which would cause the game to end in a draw.

Stuffy Doll and Guilty Conscience is a combo that did the same thing, infinite damage loop. Boros Reckoner could also be fashioned into this loop.
