I have my lazav dimir mastermind and my friend keeps saying that he can enchant it because hexproof dosnt work on auras. Is this true?

Please link all cards in your question.
Lazav, Dimir Mastermind
Hexproof means "this object can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control." Auras target as spells. Therefore, auras can't target hexproof objects opponents control.

When an Aura is on the stack, it does indeed have a target, so you can't enchant something you can't target when you cast the enchantment. Once an Aura enters the battlefield it no longer targets, and if it enters the battlefield without being cast then it doesn't have a target.
So you can attach one to an opponent's hexproof creature if you put it on the battlefield with Genesis Wave , or if something lets you choose a creature without targeting to attach it to, like with Kitsune Mystic / Autumn-Tail, Kitsune Sage

No, auras target as spells.
However, if you were to get one out some other way like with Zur the Enchanter
, you could put it on a hexproof/shroud creature.

hunter9000 and Yeroc68 are right. It depends on how the aura is being used. It will only target if it's being cast from his hand. If Sun Titan is bringing back Arrest for example, then Lazav, Dimir Mastermind can be enchanted by it.

No, aura's target. Hexproof doesn't allow opponents to target it.
"303.4a An Aura spell requires a target, which is restricted by its enchant ability."
