Can I counter a enchantment god with dispell?

Me and my friend have had this fight for quite some time and we are both wondering if I can use dispell on a god?

So I'll assume you mean using Dispel on something like Thassa, God of the Sea . The answer would be no unfortunately.

Dispel specifically say "counter target instant spell" which the gods are not.

If you mean Swan Song then yes, it's an enchantment. If you mean Negate or (as mentioned above) Dispel no, but Essence Scatter does counter a god, along with the other catch-all counters like Dissolve
