I wanted to take the time to talk about an Enchantment that maybe want all red base deck should be running. Well if you couldn't tell from the title im talking about Burning Earth . Look at the past to predict the future. In the past Mono-red and red devotion deck ran Burning Earth beacuse tri-colored decks running so many shock land. At the time it worked fine, thats until people started to build around Mono red (was winning a lot of tournaments). That time has now ended. The main reason is Mana Confluence . It makes Burning Earth just that much more better. The only down side to it, is that all the enchantment remove running around. Still you could have them in the side board. or game 2 most people would side out enchantment removal is they didn't see it much in the first game. Tell me what you think. I will take a look at any deck that it fits into.

Nice I never have thought about using Eidolon of the Great Revel . I guess it would work if someone was planing on countering you. The little damage that it does would start to build up, along with the attacks.

Burning Earth probably isn't going to happen, since now (as opposed to last season) the "best" deck(s) are mono colored, and enchantment removal is now almost maindeckable.

Burning Earth can work in a R/W deck but you would be running your own duels. It can't run as smoothly in Mono red because like you said all the enchantment removal. As you said enchantment removal is heavy so in R/W you can run Deicide and Banishing Light to take out your opponents Detention Sphere and Banishing Light . The only cards played that can permanently take care of Burning Earth that see play are Golgari Charm and Deicide . Both options are mostly sideboard choices and don't really hurt the overall game plan. It isn't as good in standard but it is certainly viable.

i agree that Burning Earth should return soon, at least in the SB. Once it starts to do well, I think it will become hated out pretty quickly though IMO.
I have been looking into a Burn style deck that has Burning Earth main alongside Eidolon of the Great Revel , but the only big problem deck I predict is MBD, which is very prevalent. However, it culd do very well against tri-color decks, and have Mindsparker in the SB fro W/U control.
