at present which would you value more in your sideboard:

Stony Silence or Wear / Tear

Silence to me pushes it's value more against affinity however the wear & tear is essentially added removal for that match up. While also being able to hit enchantments so unless you sideboard for that on top of the silence your leaving yourself open. But then again it's a question of how much enchantment removal is relevant, would certainly want it in my hand against Jeskai Ascendancy combo :p

Currently, I'd say Wear / Tear is the better card for the slot. If you can only play one, pick the more versatile option.

If you play against a lot of affinity, I'd go with Stony Silence. Otherwise Wear / Tear is more versatile as GA said.

I'd be playing Stony. I hate losing to Tron, and it shuts down Affinity as well. Even if there's no Tron or affinity in the meta, you still need your Stony(s). Affinity wins due to lack of preparation on the other side, and Tron will wreck you if they can get good mana.

Depending on what deck you play, you want both.

I agree, I play R/W burn and I use Wear / Tear over silence simply for the versatility. It deals with Leyline, Boggles, and Affinity all rolled into one card. But then again Burn also has more removal than some decks, but for burn it is the best card for the slot.

Maybe it's nostalgia, but I like Disenchant since it is slightly easier to cast and Isochron Scepter-friendly. I like Stony Silence when I am not running artifacts and in my other decks, most things are either 1cmc or 2cmc, overwhelmingly so. This makes me vulnerable to that one artifact that counters according to cmc - so then my strategy is to have multiple types of artifact hate in dual colors at dual cmcs. I do also like Steel Sabotage if I am running

edit all of these things that I like comprise my "initial go" at sideboarding and it hasn't been thoroughly tested yet!

Sorry for the double post but I just found a missing part of my brain - Chalice of the Void.

kind of leaning towards wear and tear at present as it gives my sideboard extra each vs twin
