What the fuck is Tiny Leaders? New format? when did this start becoming a thing, and what he hell is it?
it's not commander strictly, as it's meant for 1v1 too, which is strictly against the Commander ideology at it's heart.
In short,
Lower life starting50 card singleton decka different banned listone legendary creature as commander under 4CMCAll cards in the deck are under 4CMCColour identity of the deck has to match the commanderspecifically designed as a 1v1 format

Yeah it seems pretty new. I haven't made a tiny leader deck yet but I like the idea a lot.

Seems interesting.
Its like commander for people who can't afford a competitive commander deck?
Totally me
But this is neat.Might have to see what I could do with it.

maiden77 - the first commander events were 1v1, in the very beginning.

ChiefBell, really?! Did not know that! It is still against the spirit of EDH as it currently stands, and has stood for the past 7 years at least anyway. I would say it's a mix between competitive and EDH, and a bit more cost efficient, as mentioned above

@[Caligula], unfortunately it's not more affordable than commander. As far as I have been informed and experienced, Tiny Leaders is intended to be competitive and as a consequences requires you to run staples, which we all know will cost you.
Commander on the other hand is what your playgroup makes it to.
Can't wait to get my first Tiny Leaders deck though

Only thing that bothers me is the name. I mean srsly... It sounds like a series of collectables of politicians and dictators. Those little rubber figurines with a tiny body and a huge wobble head (damn whats the name, something japanese...).
The format seems great so far

Yeah I heard of it for the first time last week and now it's all over the first page. Seems like someone did a marketing campaign or something. I don't know. I built a deck this past weekend with some friends and tried it out though and really enjoyed it! I purposefully am not putting a lot of money into the format at this point though. Just cheap duals and low cost rares. It lets me play 1v1 with my friends who don't play modern and REALLY have fun.

Yeah it seems interesting enough. My playgroup has some interest in it, at this point as a budget (for both time and money) alternative to edh. It does seem to have taken off though, good job Canada. Finally invented something useful.

Peanut butter, the walkie talkie, amplitude modulation, the snowmobile, SONAR, insulin, the battery, lots more.

I know, I'm allowed to make fun of my country though.

@Caligula your a little off in your assessment there. It's not a budget format for people who can't afford competitive EDH decks. The competitive Tiny Leaders decks are more like 50 card singleton legacy decks. The best cards that have a CMC of 3 or less, all see play in some sort of Eternal format or in Modern. That doesn't mean you can't build a Tiny Leaders deck on a budget though (just like you could any deck in any format), just that all the obvious choices with a CMC of 3 or less, probably see play in some other format making them less affordable for budget builders.

I am wondering how to make a Lyzolda, the Blood Witch competitive tiny leaders deck now. Any Suggestions?
I also have a rhada, heir of keld (not sure how to spell it because its a japanese foil, I know what it is, I just cant spell it for the life of me).

There's also the fact that you have a 10 card sideboard. Didn't see anyone else mention that; apologies if it was already stated. But yea I don't see it as a budget format. If anything, it might be a budget legacy. Or a gateway drug for legacy lol. My build ran a little north of $1500

scrotality, Yeah actually I think I copied your deck. lol. I have the cards already, and figured that would be a great place to start.

Can someone explain to me what's so great about tiny leaders? It seems to me like an odd format, where Cyclonic Rift and Genesis Wave are legal, when they are often cast for much more than 3 mana.
Also, I thought one of the main purposes of commander is that you get to play big powerful spells that aren't playable in any other format for mana cost reasons. In tiny leaders, you just can't play those cards, making in seem much more like 50 card singleton legacy than commander to me.

Tiny leaders is less long, monotonous, and durdly and also is not entirely played by insufferable Timmys who think your fun has to be the same as theirs.
Bah edh.

Well tiny leaders is great for men because I have a ton of singleton good cards. Meaning I can build multiple tiny decks with my commander "rejects"

It's also great for me because I have 12048120480917348 deck ideas floating around in my head. With tiny leaders I can build those ideas without having to build a whole 100 card deck with that idea. Like Thopter Foundry and Sword of the Meek. Make Sydri tiny and call it a day.

Tiny Leaders is fun. I'm also tired so that is all I am going to contribute to this conversation currently.

I may try Tiny Leaders some day, but first I will wait for the hype to die down to see if anyone actually plays it so I don't end up wasting a bunch of money.
The same logic applies for buying planeswalkers immediately after they are released, I guess.

Tiny Leaders is the format where half the CMC <=3 cards are broken, and the other half aren't worth playing.
Sphinx's Revelation is legal.
quesobueno123 says... #2
It is commander with fifty card decks, and 3 cmc max.
