How Is Phyrexia vs The Coalition way cheaper than the other Duel Decks?

Browsing through Duel Decks on various sites and I don't know why, but while other Duel Decks are very expensive (even Ajani vs Nicol Bolas is up to 22 or so pounds on Magic Madhouse), Phyrexia vs The Coalition is still at a reduced price of 10 pounds!! And it's been like that for a long time now!

Just wondering what was going on and why this product seems to be so cheap; I'm tempted to buy a second copy! It has dragons, Phyrexian Arena , Dark Ritual , the EDH-helpful Thran Dynamo , the hilarious Phyrexian Processor , the mythics are really cool....what am I missing?

It's bad and the cool cards aren't worth any money would be my guess.

Well it's worth a fair bit more than the price it's been going for! The two Dark Ritual s and the Phyrexian Arena cover the price of the damn box, I think.

Also, my mistake, Thran Dynamo ISN'T in this Duel Decks set, though the not-so-cool Worn Powerstone is in there. I got confused because I swapped the two around to soup up the deck.

aside from the Dark Ritual s none of the cards in that dual deck are competitively used, that's why it's so cheap.

Okay, I'll take that point.

Thing is though, I would have thought they would have fallen out of circulation at least. Angels vs Demons is low on copies (admittedly it has Demonic Tutor ). But Garruk vs Liliana? That was only 4 months before Phyrexia vs The Coalition came out, and yet it's price is well over MSRP despite not having (for what I can see) anything BUT the alternate art planeswalkers.

So did Phyrexia vs The Coalition just fail spectacularly or something; as in, just gather dust on the shelves for all time? Because I'm not sure why it's price hasn't risen like its nearest predecessors/ancestors.

I'd say Liliana and Garruk with art by Terese Nielsen are both expected to be better received than a pair of decks whose only value cards have been reprinted many times.

The Phyrexian deck only has Phyrexian Arena and Living Death that get played a lot in EDH. You could argue about that for the Processor, but I only use it in a deck designed for lifegain.

The Coalition deck only has Coalition Relic. The rest of the rares are mostly big stupid Timmy cards. The best card in the deck may well be Yavimaya Elder .

You know, from a competitve/EDH/good cards standpoint.

Hmmm... so it's cheap even after 4 years because no-one really bought enough copies? Jeez. I personally like the Duel Decks set, it's pretty damn unique AND introduced me to the old style Phyrexians. They look really cool (e.g: Phyrexian Defiler and Phyrexian Negator look awesome!)

I'm glad it costs so little, I was just curious as to why it was.
