If you can redirect combat damageor burn damage, why can't healing spells be redirected to planeswalkers?

Because with the right combination of spells, you could use the planeswalker's ultimate the same turn it hit the field.

Lets assume for a moment that planeswalker points could be upped with say Healing Salve , DO YOU REALIZE HOW BROKEN THAT WOULD BE?

Technically you're a planeswalker while playing mtg so you can heal planewalkers! Troll face :D

it would be interesting, as long as you couldnt heal more than starting loyalty count.

Doubling Season already ult's most of them the turn they come out. The suggestion of 'no more than starting loyalty count' would still be broken.

Planeswalkers aren't really "wounded" anyway, they just decide helping you isn't worth the trouble, apparently.

because Heros Reunion would say, "target planeswalker gains 7 loyalty points", and with the no more than starting loyalty thing Chandra Nalaar is just cray, and so is Karn Liberated

The same reason you can't heal a creature that's taken damage with a lifegain spell: they don't have a life total, so they can't gain life.
