Which do you like: Taigams Scheming or Anticipate

I am running an Assault Formation deck that's B/U/G. I have 3 Anticipate currently. Would you sac the Anticipate for Taigam's Scheming? I haven't seen anyone running taigams before...
First post hope I did it right
IF you have graveyard recursion, I prefer scheming. In any deck that doesn't abuse your graveyard, anticipate is much better.

Taigam's Scheming isn't playable, even in graveyard decks. Anticipate replaces itself; it cantrips. That means you have the same number of cards in hand before and after casting it.
Taigam's Scheming is always card disadvantage. You cast it, and have one less card in your hand than you did before, with no effect on the board or the opponent.
So obviously the latter can only be good when you're taking advantage of graveyard synergy, but even then you're not getting a card's worth of value out of it. Consider the best graveyard decks in standard right now: 4 Color Rally and U/B Aristocrats. Both decks use the graveyard, but instead of dumping cards in with Scheming, they just cast cards, sacrifice creatures, etc. etc. All their cards do other things before being put into the graveyard. A card that only exists to put cards into the graveyard zone is bad value.

I appriciate the comments, but i am still having a hard time undstanding. Isn't it good to sort through a bunch of stuff to dictate how your hand will end up? Like if I have all 6 of my mana out on the field, I wouldn't want more mana because I can already cast everything I have in my deck. Dumping those to the graveyard would be benificial to me I would think? So casting taigams at this point would ensure that on my next 4-5 pulls would be something useful.

the main reason Anticipate is better is because it is instant speed so you can use it on your opponents turn, it still lets you look at three cards then you get one of those cards right away to use. An example of this importance is - your opponent is presenting lethal combat damage and declares attackers, you only need to remove 1 attacker to survive combat and win next turn, so you cast Anticipate, draw 2 Island and one Void Snare which you can put into your hand and cast with you're open blue mana, removing their attacker and surviving combat. Taigam's Scheming is basically Index for self mill decks. I hope this helped clear up the confusion.

In 95% of decks I will agree that Anticipate is better. Taigam's Scheming has applications in some situations however. My janky Living Lore deck (Knowledge is Power) runs it (and it's hardly a competitive strategy), but no I wouldn't recommend it in a normal deck. Reason being it doesn't replace itself, so you lose out on a card for not much benefit.

Not sure how the manifest plays in to this, can you explain what you mean loreshadow?

Manifest cards are typically blind unless you Scry. But then, even a Scry is blind until you do it. By using Taigam's Scheming you can set your Manifesting card before your target Manifest card. Or simply know that after you draw one more card next upkeep you can cast your Manifest spell. Then maybe you set it up so you have a land, creature to manifest, land to help turn face-up faster.
2 mana cast Taigam's Scheming
Draw Island or Cloudform
3 mana cast Cloudform
Draw Island
4 mana to turn creature face-up on attack
So in summary, it increases the speed and accuracy of Manifesting. Or you could just manifest blindly and use Displacement Wave, at which point you would know what's what. Blue is cool like that. :p
Placing a card on top of library to manifest typically leaves you with no mana to manifest that turn. At which point you then draw the card instead of manifest it.

No, Taigam's Scheming is only useful if you also want to put those cards in the graveyard. Anticipate is almost better in every other scenario.
