Should i Hexproof?

Deck Help forum

So i have been making a version of this deck Golgari Hasty v4 And all i need is to spend maybe 50-60 more $$$ to get the last 2 swagtusk and garruks. The deck does good, last fnm i went 3-3 which is good in my book. My question is would it be a good idea to completely switch ideas and start making a bant/hexproof/aura deck even with the rotation this close? or should i just stick with my B/G guys

I think there will be a aura/hexproof deck post-rotation.

I'm just not sure I would be buying Thragtusks anymore (but that's just me)

Bant Hexproof exists because of Invisible Stalker and Geist of Saint Traft . Once rotation happens, the archetype will either die or take a massive blow.

That said, Bant Hexproof is a good deck. Most of the nonland components are cheap and easy to find. Geist of Saint Traft and Voice of Resurgence are the only expensive nonland components in most builds, and some variants either don't play Voice of Resurgence or play less than a set of them.

I didn't say it would be Bant but Gladecover Scout and Witchstalker will both wear auras nicely.

Postrotation, Gladecover Scout and witchstalker will probably replace GoST and Invisible Stalker . Bant hexproof might even drop blue and go G/W or G/W/x, since the main incentive for blue were those two hexproof dudes.

@Krayhaft: Don't forget blue was used for Spectral Flight also...

Which will also rotate out.

its hard to say what the new version will look like without knowing much about Theros

the only things I can safely assume is some sort of emphasis on Legendary creatures and probably tribal support, maybe for tribes that really haven't gotten much yet thinking of.what's big in Greek mythology

I could see Enchantments fitting in there as at least a small theme though, especially with M14 kinda shadowing it

At this point it's hard to speculate on Theros, other than it being a greco-roman flavored set. I doubt tribal will be a theme, since it was recently done in innistrad. An enchantment-heavy block is possible, since it hasn't been done recently.

OT though, hexproof looks pretty strong post rotation, with both Ethereal Armor and Unflinching Courage . I can easily see them dropping blue though.

Never been a fan of Bant Auras/Hexproof. If you want to build a deck, build it. Just remember that it's main win condition is phasing out in Oct.
