Yosei Deck??

Commander Deck Help forum

I really like entirely wack Commanders.

Today's epiphany for a fun General to build around was Yosei, the Morning Star. I'm sure we've all had that one Yosei player in our playgroup (sarcasm: never seen this guy in the command zone ever), and I want to become that player. My plan for the deck is: tap everyone's lands and rocks down by recurring Yosei for just long enough to combo off with a Heliod, Sun-Crowned, or Rings of Brighthearth.

The help I'm looking for is as follows--card draw, recursion, win-cons, and random tidbits of lovely information regarding how strained my life is to want to build a mono-white commander deck (maybe not that last one but go for it if you're feeling the vibes)

Deck link: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/you-must-be-mistaken-you-skip-your-untap-step/

I know I just made a forum for help with a deck, but no one else is posting anything (sad face) so I thought I'd just fill the void now.

Thanks!

In future, please actually link your deck rather than just copy/pasting in the URL as plaintext:

[[deck-large:you-must-be-mistaken-you-skip-your-untap-step]]

You must be mistaken, you SKIP your untap step

And how might I go about doing that?

Have a gander in the Formatting Tips. You can also see in the code block above - you have to take the deck slug from the URL. in this case, it's the bold bit:

https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/you-must-be-mistaken-you-skip-your-untap-step/

Then you just wrap it with either:

[[deck:you-must-be-mistaken-you-skip-your-untap-step]]

or

[[deck-large:you-must-be-mistaken-you-skip-your-untap-step]]

to get either the small or large deck link.

I think the combo I've seen done to me was a combo involving yosia and Nim Deathmantle

Yea it doesnt need to be infinite. You just need 12 mana to lock down the board. And throw in the Ashnod's Altar and you only need 6 mana

I love locking down the board! The deck is now (after a quick update, that included adding the Deathmantle) very tutor-based, so I shouldn't need to keep everyone tapped out for too long to assemble the combo

Well that's basically the whole deck. What's the win condition?

Therein lies an issue. Currently the wincons are Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Walking Ballista , or Helm of Obedience + Rest in Peace . But I need more!

If you are gonna keep everything tapped down. Then why not just attack for the win?

The 3 ones that come to mind in white, that kill in one shot, are.

There is no point tapping down and locking your opponent out of playing if you cant end it fast.

Once they see one of these hit the battlefield. And they all dont concede (after they have been locked out). Then they might have a trick up their sleeve. If not, then they are fools
