The 25 EDH Challenge
Magic the Gathering has been around for 25 freaking years! So i figured throughout the year i'd like to start a theme for all those deck builders, superfans or folks that are just bored out there to experiment and come up with crazy ideas of commanders who you probably haven't used before!
Guidelines25 years of magic$2,500 Budget25 Commanders25 multi-colors (26th including all 5 colors)at least one pimped out deck (all foil)2500 Sleeves
All color combinations-from the first to current
MAIN RULESOne Commander from each block (there are 26 blocks): Now i understand some blocks don't have multi-colored legends, so the exception(s) is either:-the blocks booster box image-example Gideon, Ally of Zendikar is on the booster box of Battle for Zendikar-the sets's best represented theme hasnt been reprinted! (to follow with the UNIQUENESS and the EDH Theme)Must have the set name matching the block
Example:Eladamri, Lord of Leaves comes from tempest and never been reprinted and has the block name
Good Luck Deckbuilders!

Why not just one deck but it has to have at least one card from each set?

@MWorl91 Yes, it says it in the guidelines 25 commanders, sorry I had some formatting issues,
@yeaGOBecause the challenge is to make 25 different ones celebrating 25 years of MTG, one commander for each year...

That's just too much money and effort. Wouldn't it be better to build a deck with one card from each set?

@CrimsonKing from most of the major blocks from coldsnap, there has been appearances from even legends (circa. 94)
@Phaetion it's a lot easier than you think and, the strategy with this is you're essentially building a "staples" edh folder and with each commander just filling in the necessary cards for each strategy. For example out of the 26 commanders, you're going to have your Sol Ring Lightning Greaves or Reveillark Karmic Guide for recursion strategies, dual lands, etc. Why buy playsets or multiple copies of a staple? it doesn't make sense financially. The idea is to have all decks be sleeved the same way, and when you want to bring out a commander, have a chart and make the deck from there.

@Trixiestorm Whoops...I didn't view it from that angle. XD
Now you mention it, I've pondered on an identical idea but with FTV: Legends or similar. I could never do it because I can't bring myself to enjoy a deck long enough to keep it around for more than a month (there have been exceptions).

EDIT: Sorry about the double post.

@ Phaetion: i used to have that problem, and the issue was i found myself when i switched commanders (after i got bored of it) i found myself scrambling or putting more money into the next commander. This way (with careful planning) you wouldn't have to break the bank with playsets or accidental multiples.
@ K34: sure that's your opinion, its a fun idea and if you can't dig it then that's cool too.

Im confused as to what exactly this says. Are you asking people to build 25 different decks?
