November Updates —Nov. 8, 2015
Commander 2015 has arrived, and with it comes several new cards worthy of the list! Grasp of Fate is an almost strict upgrade to Oblivion Ring. it has replaced Flusterstorm, which has proved quite underwhelming since its addition. Meanwhile, Shielded by Faith has replaced Serra Ascendant. As much as I love Serra in 1v1 scenarios, both for her extreme early-game pressure and for her lifelink ability, which helps sustain the deck's self-hurting nature, she just isn't useful late-game or in large matches, whereas shielded by faithr is a a huge boon to the deck's main strategy: Zurtron. It was a somewhat painful, if necessary, change.
Finally, Command Beacon was added. In the rare event where Zur dies multiple times in a single match, it can rapidly become become difficult to cast him. For grindier matchups, Beacon allows for an easier casting late game, meaning I often have mana open for counter spells or other needed effects.
I'm once again testing the deck without Land Tax. The card is so incredibly borderline that it's difficult to make a lasting decision on whether to use it or not.
Also, I finally took the time to finish adding all proxies and alters! The deck is now identical in card art to the deck I play in real life. Please feel free to browse the deck list and hover over a few. Gaze at the beautiful alters. And, of course, WORSHIP ME HEATHENS!!!!
