A vision of New Phyrexia above all others... —April 1, 2021

As of today (1 April 2021) i'd like to celebrate a new milestone for this deck, as it is now the highest voted Atraxa, Praetors' Voice deck list on tappedout! I'm grateful to the tappedout community for contributing to the discourse of this build, helping to influence and guide the cards I select to help make this deck as efficient, powerful, and flavorful as possible. I don't think this deck will see any time at a cEDH table, but it is definitely playing with power. This, and all of my decks will always consider new cards as they are spoiled and released. Speaking of which, yes Strixhaven Stadium did catch my eye.

It looks like it could really get scary between proliferation triggers from Atraxa and interaction with Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider. I can't claim this one, but this quote found on a reddit thread made me laugh: "The mental image of Vorinclex demanding that his team get two points per goal and the referee being too afraid to contradict him is getting a chuckle out of me." - whomwould. I'm still thinking on this one, but if I were to sub it in, i'll cut Parallax Tide, as it's a pretty controversial card to begin with - targeting lands and all. But then again i'm not entirely sure how players would feel when they just outright lose the game.

Fahknir, my last play group got me a Phyrexian Sol Ring Alter for my birthday last year. I never bothered to upload images, but I think I should. Thanks for showing me the proxy though!

Odric_Magnusson, I like to think of "good" and "decent" in relative terms - it's all in the eye of the beholder. I learned a lot about myself as a deck builder when constructing my love letter to New Phyrexia - when I have a vision for something, I try my best to make it work - hammering a square peg into a round hole no matter what the cost. Infect is one of my favorite mechanics, unfortunately it's parasitic and fairly weak in my opinion. But since it is highly relevant to the plan Atraxa is from, I just have to make it work for the sake of flavor.

Hey SuckassBolas, its always a pleasure to hear kind words about my deck (and deck page). Thank you! The ability to customize a deck page with CSS is the one feature that makes tappedout the superior choice over other sites in the same category. Sure, they may boast new features or a more intuitive design but they all lack customization. This page is more than just a means for me to organize and update my decklist - it's a presentation of my vision for Atraxa to the world.

I think all of tappedout's contemporaries are archaic no matter what interoperability they may have with EDHREC - or whatever features they boast. To make your deck page your own is the coolest feature above all else - it's like owning an expensive foil print of one of your favorite cards, but it's your deck page.

Mortlocke thanks for the nice words!

Could you please tell me where I can write/embed a CSS code on Tappedout?

Seeing the thing you did really inspired me to customize a deckpage of my own)

Also: are you up for the Jin Gitaxias in Strixhaven? I mean, its only a leak, but im pretty sure it's true since Kaldheim also had a Praetor. I think that every set will have one praetor this year (except D&D and modern horizons and stuff). And jin kinda fits to freecasting and things like dat.

The link to the site if you missed the drop:

(ye im kinda too dumb to make a hyperlink out of this)

SuckassBolas, using CSS on your deckpage is a fairly simple process - the hardest part really, is just doing all the coding. First things first and I need to emphasize this: Using CSS on tappedout is a privilege - not a right. Using code you don't understand, and embedding malicious code is a no no and will likely get you banned outright. Now that the warning is out of the way, here's where you start:

  1. Head on over to the Coding Forum and make a post requesting permissions to use CSS on the site.
  2. In the mean time, head on over to the following tutorial pages by FancyTuesday for more information on how to code on tappedout:
  3. Visit and reach out to the Deck Coder's Alliance. They're a group of users who are custom deck page enthusiasts (like myself). I'd say that's about it for a start. If you ever have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
  4. This is completely optional, but consider becoming a supported for the site. Contributing even a dollar goes a long way. It doesn't prevent you from coding - it's just a nice thing to do for the folks that work so hard to run this site.

As for the potential leaks for Strixhaven, honestly...i'm growing kind of disappointed in Wizards for being unable to keep leaks from happening. But, just so you know - it's against TappedOut policy to post images of, and or discuss leaked cards. I will however to be sure to discuss the card at length in a later update :)
