The Restoration of Combo Pieces? —March 31, 2022

So, The Restoration of Eiganjo  Flip is a card I gather? It's floor is a white card that finds a basic plains and then turns into a really useful body in some metas, which can be found via Zur of all things. I'd say 'I suspect this card was made for this deck', but it's clearly made for my Tobias Andrion deck, but Zur likes having ways to ramp via his ability, and the option of using his ability to recur any combo piece of MV 2 or less is pretty tempting. I'd considering removing Skyclave Relic for it, ramp Zur can find is really good, and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be temptd to run an Enchantment Creature that was 2W for the backside creature, it having suspend and other upsides seems like a viable trade.

Edit: Not sure if I'll bother with it or not, but Void Rend does exist, and does fit my standard for instant speed removal that will hit Opposition Agent, while also hitting almost anything else and being counter-proof. It's not really better than Anguished, but it is better than Utter End, not sure if I'd pull End or something else and maybe have 1 more versatile removal effect? The only thing about that of course is that I want to add another 1 mana counter of some kind if I'd take something out.

Also Edit: Slip Out the Back is sneaky interesting... it can let me Phase out an Opposition Agent and find Necropotence, which will almost guarantee I can answer Opposition Agent on my next turn just fine, with the small upside of anyone acting between that player and me not being able to search, woo? It's only U, and it can also protect Zur, which is nice. It's a tough call, but U to do what I need done seems amazing?

Still More Editing: Due to the fact that I was using a specific older copy of Energy Flux, I wasn't aware it's not actually a Destroy effect atm, despite having been one at one point. Anyways, there is not really a good reason to be running Skyclave Relic, I should really look at either Restoration of Eiganjo or Coldsteel Heart, there aren't a ton of other options at 2 mana. I could ALSO just treat Skyclave Relic as a Mana Crypt, which is a card I should be running anyways, and it's not like Skyclave was especially relevant at getting Zur out. I wish WotC would stop desperately trying to preserve the value of stuff like Mana Crypt, it's pretty much an auto-include in cEDH, either get it banned or print it into the ground, it's objectively stupid to have a the best card of an archetype have it's main drawback being it's honking price tag, it's not like Yugioh collapsed due to it's wildly more open reprint policy, surely there is some happy medium between F+B, where they just made the game around the principle of cards being rare and expensive as a marketing gimmick and Yugioh making almost every card available in some form for under $1, even if some First Editions are pretty pricey (note, they tend to hold value still, but you don't need First Edition cards to play old cards). Long story short, this deck wants a Mana Crypt, maybe it's time to proxy it and be done?
