Modern Horizons Limited Infinite Combo

Standard* BGW (Abzan, Junk)

skittles541

This is a infinite combo I found using only commons and uncommons in Modern Horizons limited. It is a sacrifice loop in Abzan colors, and there are 3 main cards needed. They are, as follows:

  1. Carrion Feeder / Sling-Gang Lieutenant or another sac outlet. There are others, but these are the two at common/uncommon rarity. If you can grab an Altar of Dementia , it can replace both sac outlets as a wincon.

  2. Good-Fortune Unicorn

  3. Putrid Goblin / Lesser Masticore / anything with persist.

Here's how the combo works:

  1. Have all 3 cards on the battlefield.(Let's say we have Sling-Gang Lieutenant as a sac outlet and Putrid Goblin as the the persist card.)

  2. Sacrifice Putrid Goblin to Lieutenant. Now, there are two triggers. First, you drain your opponent for one. Second, there is the persist trigger from Putrid Goblin . Assuming this resolves, the Goblin will return to the battlefield.

  3. Putrid Goblin is back on the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter. Now, Good-Fortune Unicorn triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on the goblin.

  4. The two counters blow each other to smithereens, and you are now back at step one. The difference is that you have drained your opponent for one life. Repeat.

The base loop is the same, but it requires more cards because it isn't able to outright kill without the Sling-Gang Lieutenant . If you have Altar of Dementia , skip this. You can use the same loop as before with the Altar.

If you don't, you something that has a death trigger like Warteye Witch . Hopefully the death trigger is something that either enables you to find a wincon or is just a wincon by itself.

Follow the steps for the original loop, but with Carrion Feeder as your sac outlet. However, you can also use Lesser Masticore as well as Putrid Goblin because there isn't a goblin requirement anymore.

After you have completed the loop infinite times, you should have a guaranteed infinite/infinite at the very least, and with a Warteye Witch , infinite scry triggers. If you can't win from here, then your deck has some problems. However, most decks should be able to win from here with a rigged deck.

Note: These combso can be activated at instant speed, so if your opponent tries to kill a combopiece in response, you can just keep the loop going while the killspell is still on the stack.
