Damn, it's been a while. I don't know. Maybe I can help with that problem, pokejerk.

I do take fair breaks from commenting. I typically only comment for a discussion I like or when I believe I see a great offense.

I haven't played magic in a while. Once the new commander set comes out I think i'll get back into it.

Has there been any discussion about Selvala's Stampede? Seems like a cheaper tooth and nail of sorts. Either you have a combo piece in hand and hit the second one with 4-7 creatures in your deck, or you hit something like a Con Sphinx.

it is a casual bomb, but not being able to assuredly hit 2 combo pieces is what keeps it form being huge. it is still good due to greens creature tutor, but tooth and nail just does it all.

tasigur was banned in french and isnt that good in regular commander to lead a deck, fun but not tier 1 worthy...

Tasigur is very underhwelming at first glance. However, I must admit he is definitely a tier 1 commander. He flat out wins at instant speed with any infinite colored mana combo. Since he is in the best color wedge, he has access to a tremendous selection of cards and can assemble game winning combos with ease while shutting down opponents. Hes no Leo, but his pseudo draw ability is relevant in a reactive control deck or storm build. While not ideal, he is also a competant reanimator general too

i mean if we are just talking about colors then i see where you are coming from yes its very easy to combo in BUG... his ability however is lack luster and takes time to set up and mana... by the times you have all the pieces to control the board out you should be able to win the game with any commander. him as a commander is very lack luster in edh yes he shinned in french but if 3 players cant stop a spell/creature reanimater, especially one you always have to save four mana to use his ability... idk i guess i just play with people that hate graveyards too much. personally karador and alesha out shine him, and they dont even run blue... all im saying is when i look at these generals i tend to look strictly at the abilities not just there colors.

then stop looking at them like that. that's a bad way to judge a card.

I personally hate Tasigur, but facts are facts. Decks that use him as the commander tend to outperform a lot of other generals. Since most cEDH decks only partially build around the generals abilities, he is in par with Karador and a good deal stronger than Alesha. If you build around his ability beyond a political play or an infinite mana sink hes a hot stinking pile of garbage.

she survived, and without kiran to give a real manly throw, she just turns dudes into panic spell bombs. Also based off of stats of the original, kiran is a 1 drop 0/0. kek. anyway, tier 5 here she comes.

true.. i guess colors are colors. to out preform alesha by a land slide idk... alesha can solidly kill someone turn 3 by using her ability... that should be more not worthy then just whats in someones deck. however i see where you are coming from but why not base this off commanders abilities per say? would it take too much time?

Is anyone else upset at Panharmonicon being printed? I know it's not cEDH, but that's still a stupid auto include in like 95% of all EDH decks.
And, of course, Maro has stated that it's his favorite card in the set. Why is he in charge again?

I think as far as cEDH goes it can do some work bringing some T2 decks to T1.5 or so, things like Purphoros and Daretti become disgusting. Having a 2-3 card combo that can nearly oneshot the whole table.
September 5, 2016 4:31 p.m.
Honestly, for Purphoros it's just a 1-mana cheaper Gratuitous Violence that also makes your ETB spawners better. Which is good... but it's not instantly win the game good.

I_TappedWrong how does alesha kill someone t3 with her ability? I was under the impression we was a hatebears/stax general, not a t3 kill aggro deck. We (read: gigi, narej, and others who know better than me) do base it off of ability, and color, and p/t. that is why vorosh, despite being in what is arguably the best color combo in edh, is t5. also, *per se, and it doesn't even fit there.

t1 land + Sol Ring t2 land + Alesha, Who Smiles at Death t3 Entomb + Master of Cruelties
you asked so im just showing you the god hand im not expecting to have this every time, but having just two cards to make it happen is pretty good...

i assumed. i guess that is an alright thing, but it doesn't win you the game. every deck with black in it can win turn technically win t1. leyline of void in starting hand, swamp dark ritual helm activate. doesn't make every black deck t1.
