1st game day of the LIGA MODERN at SHINU MADE —Feb. 18, 2019

At last I was in the "competitive", and although I did not achieve any success, the experience was rewarding.

In the first round, by the odd number of participants, there was no opponent left for me and I won the points of a victory. I soon remembered the teachings of our High Councilor of Jin-Gitaxias, user: itachi45, and saw the decks the staff was using.

In the second round I faced a Golgari Midrange, I was massacred, 0-2 very easy for my opponent who controlled the two matches.

In the third round came a UW Control. In the first game I was totally controlled, the famous Jace came to the game, and my deck left the game. In the second I managed to win, I freed my Glistener Elf from the target of a Path of Exile with my Spell Pierce, Wild Defiance on turn 3, turn 4 combo for the win. In game three I reached the 4 turn with 2 creatures on the table, the opponent was on the top deck and fished a Supreme Verdict and my game went downhill. 1-2.

In the fourth round I faced an 8 rack, in the first game combo in the turn 3, and I won. In the other games I was greatly harmed by Inquisition of Kozilek and Smallpox, the opponent totally controlled the game. 1-2 again. 13th place guaranteed.

As I will travel this month I will leave to participate in another game day only next month. Until then we will see if I improve my sideboard, Carrion Call, Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, Nature's Claim and Invisible Stalker . Hopefully I get something more for mana base, anyway ...

I hope you have enjoyed the report, the next ones I will post here too.

I like where this deck is going(ish) and I hereby and officially recognize itachi45 as a member of the High Council of Jin-Gitaxias and kneel to him as the king of infect(Thnx for helping w/ my Eldrazi deck btw). However, I play a more glass cannon style of Infect that kills on turn 3-5. I run 0 cards over the mana cost of 2. Everything is a 1 or 2 drop. You either win before they can do anything, or you don't win at all. I don't play any mana dorks, and I have close to nothing to do with card advantage. Sometimes that comes back to bite me in the butt sure, but it fits my deck's playstyle perfectly. You can either get or good hand and win; instantly. Or you can hope to mulligan into at least a decent hand. (Sry I'm getting off topic. Once I start ranting, it's hard for me to stop myself.)

The way I see it, you can play infect three ways. You could play it in the glass cannon format, double or nothing, or you could play it a little safer and win on about turn 5-7 or so. Or, your third option is to either mix those two playstyles, or create something that is unique. What you choose is up too you.

Just for preference, here is my glass cannon style infect deck: Try to Cure the Infection(Infect Remastered). Feel free to pull cards from it or use whatever you need too. Happy building!
