MH1 impact —Aug. 4, 2019
MH1 has brought back Jund decks into popularity however there are cards for even an ally deck to look at with Changeling being a returning keyword in the set. For our purposes there are only a few to really look at Changeling Outcast, Universal Automaton, Valiant Changeling, and Unsettled Mariner.
All of these are both Allies and Humans, all of our 5c lands make them easy to cast, Vial and Coco bring in at least 3 of them. But do they make dealing 20 damage faster or more efficient? None of them get counters, and only put counters on our other things from their own effects.Outcast and Automaton don't have the one extra power Envoy has, even if Outcast is unblockable
Unsettled Mariner is undoubtedly a strong card and probably deserves to be in the 75, but I don't think it's a mainboard card, yet. Having a couple in the SB seems correct.
I only recently took out Shapeshifter, it was too cute. The best it does is copy Battlesinger anything else could just be another Oran-Rief Survivalist-clone anyway. To keep it more consistent I'm actually trying to do Collected Company now so no Shapeshifter for now. I'd MUCH prefer to try Phantasmal Image over it giving weird play against things like Reality Smasher.
Mimic is good in a deck with ONLY the one type or as a combo piece at least. Mimic entering as an Ally missing triggers on Champion and Lt. or putting it as a Human makes the allies not trigger, at least right now the only thing that "whiffs" triggers is Champion of the Parish coming in after an ally, and that feels bad enough.
These are all ideas for potential different decks and build and aren't bad cards, but maximizing t3 kills is my goal with this for now.
The only long-term change that would be nice to make is to get 3 more Horizon Canopy in this build.

Have you ever tried testing with Jwari Shapeshifter or Metallic Mimic? I ran a 4 Color Allies list for a bit, but had some issues with the mana base, but Jwari and Mimic were fantastic. Currently, I'm on a Junk Hardened Scales Humans build with a very heavy Ally subtheme, and I definitely miss those two the most
