Small Update —Oct. 24, 2019

IN: Explorer's Scope, Wayfarer's Bauble

OUT: Blight Mamba, Strider Harness

I recently counted the amount of ramp to non-ramp cards in the deck and decided that I need to lean heavier into the ramp strategy. Some of the defensive cards are getting cut in the future, but for now we're cutting Blight Mamba which is a defensive card that is also part of a infect package alternate win condition. Rot Wolf will also be cut soon. Since the alternate win condition is also based on combat, I might as well focus on Baloth Woodcrasher. If decks with heavy counterspells evolve in my meta, I might reconsider this.

Strider Harness was for turns after which Baloth Woodcrasher was killed and returned to the battlefield to immediately begin swinging again, because waititng a turn to attack and hoping your opponents don't have anything never feels good. However this rarely happened since Baloth Woodcrasher was typically played as soon as possible at the start of the game and that it's optimal to have open mana to cast ramp spells the turn it attacks. In this vein, protection spells for the commander are better, hence Sheltering Word, Vines of Vastwood, Ranger's Guile, and in the near future, Snake Umbra.

Big update coming when I get my package in the mail.

Terramorphic and Evolving are great.

I'd also consider the three green Panoramas (Jund, Naya, and Bant) and Warped Landscape . I think they're great here 'cause if you don't need the fetch, they don't slow you down a turn (i.e., they come in untaped and tap for mana), and you can save the fetch-ability on them until you have the spare mana for it or need that extra landfetch trigger.

If you can get one of those and a Scaretiller online, you're guaranteed two landfall triggers every turn before your land-for-turn from hand. I run the Fetch-land + Scaretiller package in Syr Carah (mostly just for deck-thinning), and it's actually really incredible.

Explorer's Scope can ramp early on a wood elves, and beef up the big boss late on the Woodcrasher. I like it 'cause it's repeatable.
