Shabarishna, Scheming Ascendant

Legendary Creature - Elder Cat Demon

Whenever one or more creatures you control deal combat damage to a player, return target creature with the highest converted mana cost among creature cards in that players graveyard.

Whenever one or more creatures deal combat damage to you, the attacking player sacrifices a creature with the highest converted mana cost among attacking creatures they control.

If ~ would die, exile it instead with nine Cage counters on it. Whenever a creature card is put into exile, remove a Cage counter from ~.

Not sure if I got the flavour right, I couldn't decide between sultai because that's usually what raksasha are on takir or colourless to go with the spooky old magic Hewed Stone Retainers thing.

Make it again or create something else related to the lore.

Beginning Start

Image: Three players are sitting around a table playing Magic: The Gathering. One of the players points at a creature an opponent controls. Said opponent looks confused.

Sorcery

Surveil 1, then scry 2, then draw a card. Create a 1/1 colorless thopter artifact creature token.

Not all journeys begin with a clear path or sense of higher purpose.

There's a new Tarkir set coming. My idea for the set would be that, predating Ugin's arrival, there was a multi-headed Rakshasa who ruled the plane as a tyrant. This will be the set where Sarkhan Vol earns his title as Sarkhan by defeating the Rakshasa and unifying dragons and everyone else as equals under his rule.

Create that Rakshasa. Remember it has to be a cat demon. It doesn't have to have dragon hate, but it must be darn near invincible in archenemy when playing against any three of the elder dragons from Dragons of Tarkir.

To get the full flavor of how dangerous this guy is, the card should be designed in mind with Hewed Stone Retainers from the set Fate Reforged to be seen in retrospect as foreshadowing.

Hmmmmm. The cards I'm least sold on in my main board are Hewed Stone Retainers (like, really? They're just kinda goofy and bad) and the Briber's Purses. I like a couple of Reclusive Artificers in their place, but even more so Thopter Engineer. I could make room for both here (not sure if I can fit Artificer main board but I'll certainly try to).

Engineer is interesting because it's not bad without Renowned Weaponsmith, but with him we can be attacking with a hasty Responder on turn four. GG. I suspect Mirror Mockery and a full set of Sidisi's Faithful will make it into my sideboard if this plan works out. My sideboard's a mess anyway.

Any time I tried going 3 colors I found myself dropping too many artifacts and colorless lands for the deck to be coherent but a light splash for red would not require that. Cheap red cards too, I like that. Cheers
