That's fair. I have always thought to take a soldier tribal route with Kalemne myself, which in a more generic sense would mean a token subtheme. Otherwise I would feel generically good creatures (of any tribe) or ones that can lend power to another creature would work best for Kalemne. I'll get back to you if I come up with a decklist.

Hey TheRedGoat,

yeah haven't finished all decklists yet, but I'll get to them as soon as I find some time.

To-Do (05/14/2018):

MTGC11:

  • All 5 decks

MTGC13:

  • Eternal Bargain (W/U/B): Life Gain / Life Drain Theme
  • Power Hungry (B/R/G): Combat Tricks Theme

MTGC14:

  • Sworn to Darkness (B): Demon Tribal / Sacrifice Theme

MTGC15:

  • Call the Spirits (W/B): Enchantment Theme
  • Wade into Battle (W/R): Giant / Angel Tribal

MTGC16:

  • Entropic Uprising (U/B/R/G): Chaos Theme
  • Open Hostility (W/B/R/G): Voltron - Auras & Curses Theme
  • Stalwart Unity (W/U/R/G): Kingmaker Theme
  • Breed Lethality (W/U/B/G): Infect Theme

MTGC17:

  • Feline Ferocity (W/G): Cat Tribal
  • Vampiric Bloodlust (W/B/R): Vampire Tribal
  • Arcane Wizardry (U/B/R): Wizard Tribal / ETB subtheme

Other than that I am planning these decks:

  • Firesong and Sunspeaker (W/R): Boros Spellslinger / Life Gain theme
  • Muldrotha, the Gravetide (U/B/G): Graveyard / Dredge theme
  • Narset, Enlightened Master (W/U/R): Extra Turns / Control theme

Of course feel free to try out building with the PreCon rules by yourself. I'll sooner or later add Wade into Battle, but no further plans yet other than making it Angel / Giant Tribal with some good Kalemne synergies.

Okay, so I am really into the idea of this project, and would love to try it out, but first I wanted to address something. I saw that of the "pre-con" and "upgraded" decks you have, you don't have one for the W/R "Wade into Battle". Is there any particular reason for skipping it or if that one is still in the works can I help complete it?

ZendikariWol Awesome! Will check it out as soon as I find some time and will send you some feedback.

mastermew Thanks, I recommend to check the quick rules. They explain the main game step by step and the expansion / subvariant quick rule cards explain everything you need to know to play them. I let ppl at LGS read the quick rules and just let them start. Its designed to be self-explanatory.

I am planning to do an updated version of the YouTube video and give some examples as to how a game can evolve. But since I am extremly busy right now the video will probably hit around mid august.

Hey luziferius,

thanks for the suggestions!

QUESTS 83, Survival of the fittest: The quest puts evolution counters on creatures. If you complete the quest, you can sacrifice one creature with three evolution counters on it. Since there are no other cards that interact with this kind of counter as far as I know, completing the quest leaves the board with useless counters on creatures. Maybe add "Remove all evolution counters from all permanents." to the completion reward to clean up the board. (I suggest "permanents" above to also remove counters from things that lost creature type but have such a counter, e.g. previously animated lands, vehicles, etc.)

For Q83: We decided to keep CA-specific counters created through CA-objectives on creatures so we could use them again in future expansions. It would be strange to have cards remove counters upon completition and interfere with the progress on other objectives that may use them. Many mechanics we created here will be used at later points and "evolving stuff" is a cool flavor we look forward to pick up again.

QUESTS 73, The ambitious monarch: (CS student here...) All-quantifications over empty sets are always true. That means that the quest requirement (attack with all creatures you control) is trivially fulfilled as long as you control no creatures during your combat step. Maybe add "Attack with at least one creature to fulfill this quest." or something like "[...] attack with all (and at least one) creatures you control [...]".

For Q73: This is very true for computer algorithms, but MTG rules work different and there is a set of rules you need to consider that are not written on the card itself. I'll check back with our judge team, but I am convinced that "attacking" is still a required action as it would be a requirement to have a land to bounce when playing Azorius Chancery or any other bounce land. So no creatures on the field = Can't complete the objective.

QUESTS 29, Mana addiction: A wording change that does not alter the quest: Maybe swap the order of both choices. Since the second is short ("Complete this quest.") and the first is rather wordy, swapping both eases reading it aloud. "Choose one: - Complete this quest. or - [...]"

For Q29: As a former CS student and UX designer (:P) I made this card read this way on purpose. To prevent layer 8 issues I placed the "complete clause" second, so people don't skip on the other option when reading the card. But I get your point.__

If you find any other issues don't hesitate to let us know! Always great to get some useful feedback!

Best Regards

Sebastian

Hey Gwent,

sounds very interesting!

We already bounced some simple ideas around. Since CA offers so many odd situations it's very easy to create cool achievements like "Complete a Vengeance, then defeat your nemesis," "Win a game as an archenemy," or "Defeat the Sliver Queen."

But since I am on a small break (writing bachelor thesis right now) and since remaining team is busy translating CA into other languages (french, italian, portuguese, spanish, german), we didn't had the time to dive deeper into the Achievement Point topic yet.

If you want to talk / chat you can send me a mail to [email protected] and I'll send you our team's discord link.

cheersSebastian
