Untap?

I have had a problem understanding the . Is it after I attack I can untap it by choice for its effect? I dont completely understand. Please help!

The risk is always that they will get killed during an attack. Luckily abilities can be activated whenever so you can attack and then untap before damage is dealt. Also, in case you haven’t seen him, Crackleburr.

Adding on to what TypicalTimmy said, the untapping effect doesn’t just have to be after it attacked. The creature could be tapped from, say, Cryptolith Rite, and you could still go ahead and use that untap ability. So, to answer your question about the attacking thing, you can use that ability whenever the creature is tapped, not just after it attacked. Does that help?

One last addition: as far as I remember, paying as a cost also needs the creature to not have summoning sickness anymore.

Boring admin aside, here is the rule for the Untap symbol:

Rule 107.6. The untap symbol is . The untap symbol in an activation cost means “Untap this permanent.” A permanent that’s already untapped can’t be untapped again to pay the cost. A creature’s activated ability with the untap symbol in its activation cost can’t be activated unless the creature has been under its controller’s control continuously since their most recent turn began. See rule 302.6.
