Can Prototype Portal work with Darksteel Citadel?

Yes. Darksteel Citadel is an artifact card, and so it is a valid card to exile with Prototype Portal's Imprint ability. Activating the portal at that point will create a token that's a copy of Citadel.

BrennanH Nope - you can only play one land from your hand per turn (unless you have something that says otherwise such as Azusa, Lost but Seeking), but you can copy any number of lands using things like Prototype Portal and an artifact land or Mythos of Illuna. In your situation, you can play a land, cast Prototype Portal exiling Darksteel Citadel from your hand, and then immediately tap the portal to create a token of the Citadel. Let's say you after your create the token you also have an open green mana. You could play something like Farseek to put yet another land onto the battlefield. Even though three lands entered the battlefield this turn under your control, only one was played from your hand, so you're good.
