Preeminent Captain and Vanguard of Brimaz

Asked by Lord007 9 years ago

If I cheat Vanguard of Brimaz into play with Preeminent Captain will it be attacking as a 1/2 or will its ability trigger?

I think understand that its ability will not trigger because it was never declared an attacker during the normal Declare Attackers step but I wanted conformation.

What 1/2?

Vanguard of Brimaz 's heroic ability won't trigger because it wasn't targeted.

Maybe you think of Favored Hoplite ?

Either way, it will not get a heroic trigger. Heroic only triggers when a SPELL (a non-land card on the stack, not an ability) targets it :D Like Coordinated Assault :D

If you use Preeminent Captain to put Vanguard of Brimaz into play, the heroic ability will not trigger because Preeminent Captain 's triggered ability is an ability, not a spell. Only spells trigger heroic. That being said, Vanguard of Brimaz doesn't seem to fit your question. Why would it be a 1/2? Did you mean to link to a different card?

Wait a sec... You don't ask questions about Heroic....You are asking about Akroan Hoplite right? Well, in that case, it would attack as a 1/2 I think. The ability only triggers when it attacks. Not when it's put onto the battlefield attacking :D

Could you re-check the cards you're talking about and respond with a revised question? The original one doesn't really make any sense.
