If Clever Impersonator copys a artifact is it a artifact creature then?

a creature that copy a permantent. When it copys a artifact say Cranial Archive is it then just a artifact losing its creature tag or not.

Side note: see Phyrexian Metamorph as an example of a copy effect that does add extra types (because it specifically says it does).

So the title and the body ask two opposing questions. To make clear what the answer is:
When Clever Impersonator copies Cranial Archive he becomes an artifact named Cranial Archive with the ability ", Exile Cranial Archive: Target player shuffles his or her graveyard into his or her library. Draw a card". It is no longer a creature, no longer named Clever Impersonator, and no longer has the ability "You may have Clever Impersonator enter the battlefield as a copy of any nonland permanent on the battlefield."

Yes. Clever Impersonator becomes an exact copy of whatever nonland permanent you choose. This overrides any of its base characteristics with those of the chosen permanent.
