Effects of Jaya Ballard and Goblin Welder

I had a situation come up in my mind today which needs a bit of clarification.
On the board I have Jaya Ballard, Task Mage, Sol Ring, Goblin Welder and plenty of mana.
In my hand I have Akroma's Memorial.
If I were to use Jaya's Inferno ability, Discarding Akroma's Memorial. In response to that could I then use Goblin Welder to switch the Akroma's Memorial With the Sol Ring to protect both of my creatures?

Yes, that works. By the time Jaya's ability is put on the stack, the activation costs (which include discarding a card) have been paid and the Memorial will be in your graveyard. You will eventually get priority, and you can choose to activate the Welder's ability, targetting the mentioned artifacts. If nothing else happens, the Memorial will be on the battlefield when Jaya's ability resolves, preventing damage from red sources to your creatures.
