Does thornbite staff trigger the untap if itself and a artifact creature are dying at once?

Today i was playing a game of edh and i was playing my kikki jikki deck someone played a bane of progress, i at the moment had a tapped kiki with staff equipped and the artifact creature duplicant im wondering if the staff sees the duplicant hit the yard with itself and untaps the kiki Thanks hope to see answers soon.

Yes, it will trigger once for each artifact creature (and enchantment creature) that dies this way, and you can tap kiki-jiki between each resolution to make tokens.
