Can a flipped creature attack?

Asked by Feltrix 7 years ago

Say, I've had Thing in the Ice out for a turn. I cast a spell and remove the last ice counter, transforming the Thing. Does it have summoning sickness from transforming, or can I attack immediately?

Neither flipping a creature (like Nighteyes the Desecrator) nor transforming a creature (like Awoken Horror  Flip) count as them entering the battlefield, so as long as the original form has been on the battlefield since the start of your turn you can attack with the new version.

Neotrup is correct, flipping/transforming a card is just changing the characteristics of the card, not destroying it and creating a new card. Counters, Auras, Equipment etc. all stay on the flipped/transformed creature as well.
