By my name on my profile page, it says "Deckling". Yet on other people like zandl, it says "Article Author, Rabble-Rouser".How do you get it to say something like that???

Upgraded users within the top 100 can customize their titles.

Yeah, it's a little field under the Settings menu that unlocks once you ranks 100 or higher.

Quick question, how do you get your rank higher? I see mine go up every day, (it's 307 now). Do you need a good deck score?

lotusofblackness There are a thousand threads on this, but basically your rank is determined by how active you are on the site. Your rank will rise from creating decks, commenting on others decks and threads and making good suggestions. But, whatever you do, don't spam the forums or decks to try to raise your rank. Just be an active member and your rank will continue to raise.

I accidentally got in the top 100 because I made so many decks (412 so far, and counting). I just built decks and then I was like, oh, I'm #35...

My friends said that you get a higher rank when you donate. Is that true?

Donating, creating decks, and upvotes do not count towards rank.

Pretty sure only commenting and fixing/adding cards to the database result in points.

Well if fixing/adding cards allows you to increase your rank, technically donating does help you because non-upgraded members can't do so. But to bring back an inside joke from the last time people were concerned about their rank:
Whose Line

PS For the love of god if people are getting obsessed about their rank again please stay away from answering questions in the Q&A unless you know 100% you are right. We don't need 2 weeks of the usual suspects having to read every answered question to make sure that it was answered correctly again.

I already double check all of the Q&A threads just in case. I catch a mistake every now and then, but I usually drop by to leave a note with some helpful information (or to remind people to link their cards).

Yeah but last time people got concerned about their rank there was 2 weeks of over 50% of the "answered" questions being wrong. An occasional thing is one thing, but when I'm trolling around the Q&A to see if there is anyone I can help clear something up for it is a bit annoying to have to read all the ones answered by names I don't recognize instead of just being able to trust that people answering the questions know enough to answer it. As opposed to just trying to get their forum posts up.

I mean...just come on the site when you're bored (at work) and help people on threads and point out some ideas on peoples' decks that they cycle. Don't just spam though. That's pretty annoying. But if you're on often enough and post a bit here and there in constructive and/or non-annoying ways, your rank will gradually rise.

And only answer rules or deck help questions if you're reasonably certain that you're correct. A few users tend to just say whatever comes to mind and it tends to muddle things.

Meh they mean the same thing, and I actually like the one without a border better aesthetically.

July 22, 2014 2:44 p.m.

I prefer the one without the border as well.

Isn't there a thread about this topic every other day or so?

July 22, 2014 6:11 p.m.

Not that I have noticed. About every 6 months or so there is about a week of people wondering why they are "deckling" and how to change it. This is followed by about 2 weeks of low quality comments, threads, and Q&A answers and then we have peace for the rest of the time.
