I don't remember seeing this anywhere so I thought I'd make a new thread.

I'm on board for more slivers as well.

I also hope its Liliana's set, and that she learns at least a little more about the Raven Man.

@kanokarob: The fan theory is the Raven Man is a reincarnated Urza. That's part of why I'm excited...hopefully we see a return of some pre-mending planeswalkers (Teferi, Urza, etc.).

I don't think that's "the" fan theory. It's certainly a theory.

But, uh, no.

I am very excited about returning to Dominaria, since that plane has scarcely been seen or mentioning since the Time Spiral block, and I do expect that Liliana will somehow be involved in the set, since she is from Dominaria, originally.

Why is this set simply called "Domianria?" There have already been nearly a dozen sets on Dominaria, so would it not make more sense that this set have a multi-word name, as did Scars of Mirrodin, Return to Ravnica, Battle for Zendikar, or Shadows Over Innistrad?

@DemonDragonJ: Prolly because it's been somewhat of WotC's policy to name blocks after the plane the "first" time we go to the plane. We haven't been to Dominaria during a time when the block was named after the plane.

Not to mention, a lot of the previous story lines that primarily took place on Dominaria also took place on multiple, other planes in the same block. Urza's block not only took place on Dominaria, but also on Rath and Serra's Realm.

sylvannos, that may be true, but it still is very lazy and unimaginative.

@DemonDragonJ: My other guess is that it's re-branding. We haven't been to Dominaria since Time Spiral and, before that, Onslaught. It's probably marketing to newer players.

who do you think the planeswalkers are going to be? because from what i have seen from both lore and design, over half of them already have been there.

Mortlocke says... #13

@Dead2Value: I know this is naive, but I am so hoping that it'll be a Sliver Planeswalker coming from the Dominaria set. Even better- it'll be a new instance of Sliver Queen.

no I don't think their will be a sliver planeswalker, slivers definitely but no sliver walkers. the only planeswalkers i can think that might show up are, Liliana and Serra, since they are both from the plain.

Serra died with her plane, as I recall.

This is almost certainly Liliana's set, so we'll be seeing her of course.

Following that, I suspect a minion of Bolas, coming to meet Lili. So either Tezzeret, Rap Zarek, or maybe Sarkhan, depending on whether Bolas was able to reclaim his allegiances.

A sliver planeswalker is almost completely out of the question. Slivers are not sentient beings. The Sliver Queen was somewhat telepathic and aware, but it was still very much an animal. She's also very dead. Technically, a Sliver planeswalker could exist, but would have to be born in a hive with enough slivers with the perfect collection of mutations to make all of the hive's slivers sentient. And not only do we not know if that's possible, but a sliver'walker would bring very little aid to sliver decks or their playstyle, and so is unlikely to be printed on design-reasons alone.

their is one thing i hope will happen is that the set will have a mono colored theme where the lands are divided into a single color and have specific themes, Shiv being red, Corondor being green and so on and so on. also i'm hoping they bring in Caliman, because we have not seen much of the island, and pirates were known for being there so they could bring in some new pirates.
