Magus Question/Idea/Reserved List Random Thoughts

Forgive me if this is the wrong area to put this, but in perusing TCGplayer and seeing the newest Magus Magus of the Will it got me to thinking about something.

So, the reserved list is here to stay and people feel strongly about keeping it or doing away with it, which is all well and good. The idea of reprinting the ABUR duals has come up time and time again, and the issue many run into is that functional reprints are a no no.

But, we have things like Magus of the Moat which Moat is on the reserved list. Now, paying 2 and WW is a lot for a creature, but you get the Moat effect on a body. Is it strictly worse, yes, but it allows people the ability to play that effect.

Why not do something creative with the Magus runs and attach dual lands to a creature body? Would that fly in terms of the reserved list? Is it the best idea, no, but we get Birds of Paradise so why not a Magus of the Volcano or Magus of the Sea?

Just kind of spitting ideas. I know they are not the most ideal, but could be made an option.

The reason ABUR duals are good is that they're lands with basic land types. This makes them fetchable, free to play, and resistant to most removal. Putting the same mana abilities on a creature doesn't actually make that creature good for the same reasons.

Besides, there are already good nonland mana fixers. Unless the creatures are somehow remarkably better than what already exists, there's not a whole lot of incentive to use them.

I don't think I want to see Legacy and Vintage decks (or even commander for that matter) get MORE excellent removal resistant mana fixing.

Dryad Arbor is already a thing, and it already causes a lot of rules confusion and problematic formatting. Making a dual-dryad is pretty much a non starter.
