Is it Too Early to Begin Speculation for a Third Innistrad Block?

Spoilers, Rumors, and Speculation forum

Currently, WotC does not have any plans for a third Innistrad block in the near future, but, given that there have now been three Ravnica blocks and there shall soon be a third Zendikar block, I believe that there shall eventually be a third Innistrad block, so I wonder if it is too early to begin speculation for a third visit to Innistrad.

Obviously, Sorin would be involved, but I would rather not see either Nahiri or Tamiyo, as I feel that they need to have adventures on other planes. I also would rather not see Emrakul escape from the moon, since that would simply be a repeat of the last time that it invaded the plane. Also, it would be very nice to see Edgar Markov, again, and also learn about the black/white angel sister to Sigarda, Gisela, and Bruna.

What does everyone else here say about this? Is it too early to begin speculation about a third Innistrad block?

I'm gonna go all the way out there. I'm here to explore the vastly unlikely. If you like this, I posted something just a few minutes ago on this very forum and I am critically starved for feedback. In the meantime, let's get wild!

What if a return to Innistrad served to set up a SIXTH tribe on Innistrad: the Eldrazi!

The most obvious problem with this is that Innistrad is color-balanced; the factions (spirits, werewolves, vampires, zombies, and humans) all combine to form the ally color wheel. And you know what? That is not an issue.

Emrakul actually makes this really convenient, as she doesn't just flood the world with her brood like Ulamog or Kozilek. She warps the plane's existing life. As a result, Emrakul's children run the circuit of tribes and colors, allowing them to slide themselves into a set without much trouble. Not only that, but Emrakul would heighten the tension and fear of going mad already present on Innistrad. What if Emrakul's presence in the moon means that every night, the humans stand a chance of losing their minds? What if the vampires, once held back somewhat by the angels, go even crazier, unfettered by the angels and goaded by Emrakul? What if the new heroes, the new protectors of humanity... are the demons?

With few angels left, the humans turn to anything they can trust... anything they can trust to keep their contracts. Some humans stick to their guns and continue to try to fight the things go bump in the night, but many don't have that luxury.

How much of the plane has been explored? From what I know, only certain regions have been featured in the story, so would a future visit to that plane show places that have not yet been seen?

You lost me at 'Eldrazi' ZenikariWol. I 100% stopped reading at that point.

Eldrazi ruined both Innistrad and Zendikar. Nothing about either of those beloved planes will ever be the same and several amazing characters were killed via lazy writing. I actually threw up in my mouth a little, thanks.

Last_Laugh I'm interested. What didn’t the Eldrazi do for you?

Cosmic horror is not everyone's cup of tea, but with WOTC ending last Innistrad's story with Emrakul sealing herself in the moon, you cannot not have Eldrazi in Innistrad 3.

I think that it can another setting for a multiple planeswalker coming together event to defeat the strongest eldrazi once and for all. Or better yet, Innistrad is the first plane that New Phyrexia invades (they figured out the interplanar travel somehow) and Emrakul defends her new home from the invaders - a set without any planeswalkers, only eldrazi versus phyrexians.

I agree with your first paragraph 100% Boza... when the eldrazi were on the original zendikar it worked for me because it was new/focused... but when they were injected into innistrad... it's not that it didn't work, it just wasn't my cup of tea because I like my classic horror plane the way it was.

I really hope you are wrong/they dont put phyrexians in innistrad 3 for EVEN MORE HORROR with an infectious plague because I think that it would just be too busy/crazy flavorwise.

the thought combining of all the crazy mana fixing/acceleration and phyrexian mana associated with the eldrazi and phyrexians alone just sounds like a recipe for a seriously degenerate block/set.

If they did this karn would need to swoop in with his toy to just blow up/erase the hot mess of a plane/story hahaha.
