Pauper? Peasant? What? #Newbie Questions

Pauper forum

Posted on Oct. 1, 2014, 9:29 a.m. by JRaynor

So I have a friend who wants me to get into Pauper... except he refers to it as Peasant, and says he doesn't know what Pauper is.

So what's the difference? Is there a difference?

Pauper is only cards printed as commons. Peasent is the same, but allows for up to 5 uncommons in the 75 cards.

Of course, definitions may vary for every playgroup. So ask your friend for his definition of peasant.

Thanks for answering my question! Why shouldn't I hashtag? I've posted a couple of things with a #Newbie questions and no one has complained before.

I don't even use twitter and the # has worked its way into my vocabulary.

Hashtags have absolutely no function on this website. What does a hashtag add to your post?

Boza explained the differences between pauper and peasant pretty well, but as mentioned some people have different definitions of pauper and peasant. I would simply ask your friend.

I see # as pound everytime I see it. So #Newbie o_0

Pauper is great. I have never tried peasant though. If I did, I am sure it would include 4x Young Pyromancer

What does "poundNewbie" mean then? I guess I just don't get it :/

Young Pyromancer would be very good in peasant. I tried getting into Pauper until I realized that it's basically all aggro decks. 50% of my games were against Delver of Secrets  Flip .

used to be the pound sign on the phone. Now it is a twitter thing.

Oh I saw that Didgeridooda, for some reason I thought you were the OP. I'm trying to figure out why there is a pound sign in his post, that's all.

Why is the text so large on my post?

Ohhhhhhh (#) makes big text.

lol, I accidentally learned something.

At first I thought you were trying to be very condescending by using big text, lol.

This is an exciting discovery.

Haha, I was not, but I could see how you would think that.

That's hilarious

I was using the # symbol in my original post to designate topic. Yes, it is a twitter thing. If you pronounce the # as Hashtag instead of Pound it reads: Blabla Question. Hashtag newbie questions.

ie. This is a post on the subject of newbie questions

I don't even use Twitter but my wife and a number of my friends use "Hashtag" in their day to day speech so it's rubbed off on me. Get with the Zeitgeist guys! :)

Interesting sidenote...the pound/hashtag symbol is actually (okay, I guess originally not actually) called an octothorpe

#Octothorpe For The Win!!

Okay, this has to be posted.

I was about to Reanimate a thread telling PrecintSix6Six not to Reanimate a thread.

Funny enough on its own, it goes on to Reanimate this thread regardless :D

Femme_Fatale, I don't think we have to count either of those as necros cause it never left the window thing in the forum forum...is it the forum forum? The place you only see the most recent five of each forum. So no one has to know, few people come around these parts.
