I'm suprised they're bringing in more planeswalkers to Kaladesh, at least in the story. Maybe Ajani will be in archenemy Bolas or Amonkhet. I have a theory that the Aether Revolt planeswalker cards will only be Tezerrwt and Liliana. If you go to the Magic website and Kaladesh's plane page, you will see "Planeswalker Visitors" and it only lists six (our four Kaladesh 'walkers and then Tezerrwt and Liliana). This information makes me think they will have cards, because otherwise Wizards could have added Ajani, Jace, and Gideon to the page too. Still glad Ajani has Elspeth's cloak. RIP Elspeth

I would've thought Liliana got a new card in Amonkhet. It would make sense if she was headlining the block as one of her demons could be there (I'm guessing Razaketh).

TheFoilAjani After thinking about it, I agree. I believe the Gatewatch would cease to exist with members leaving.
I expect that Liliana will be leaving the Gatewatch, and taking Chandra with her. The flavor text is telling me that Liliana is manipulating Chandra. I expect so that Chandra can help her when she decides to hunt her next demon.
Liliana obviously doesn't care about the Gatewatch, so it will be interesting to see when (if), they leave.

ridiculous speculation: Lili does succeed in "corrupting" Chandra, and Chandra sometime in the future turns to , then Koth returns to the story and becomes the new mono red walker!
i mean lets be honest here, 4 out of the 5 "main" walkers and members of the Gatewatch are human, at least if we can consider Lili to be still human. we could use more racial variety.

Gideon, Jace, Liliana, Chandra, and Nissa will all be staying Mono. Wizards stated that was their goal and why these Walkers were chosen for Origins. They are Mono, have always been Mono, and they are intended to STAY Mono.

Koth is too BA to die. if they bring New Phyrexia back into the story, i think well see him still kicking butt as he asks the Gatewatch for help or whatever. but who knows when that'll happen since we have Bolas to deal with next.

I totally expect that Liliana and Chandra will leave when the Gatewatch go to face Bolas.
This will hold especially true if, like some people think, one of Liliana's demons is on Bolas' Plane.
I just want to see how they leave the Gatewatch already and why!! I figured Liliana would try to pull Chandra, and then I saw the are and flavor text for Kaladesh Diabolic Tutor. It made me so happy.

might seem to suggest Chandra will do something reckless and dangerous with her fire, like attack the Consulate as revenge for her mom being arrested (or killed in the next set) and she will get kicked out by Jace, then Lili will convince her they should go talk to Bolas for some reason (with Lili's ulterior motive being getting help with the demons, obv), then the Gatewatch follow them because they heard the part about Bolas and of course they dont want the girls going to see him.

They will make a card to reflect that where you gain control of your opponent's female planeswalker card lol. Or an ability for new Bolas. "Nicol Bolas, Chick Stealer"

I'm not sure that he will be joining the Gatewatch though. I'm trying to remember what Wizards said, was it just going to be those Planeswalkers they specifically highlighted in Origins, or were they just going to be the first in the Gatewatch?
Either way, this makes sense to lead up to the next Block. Ajani isn't a big fan of Nicol Bolas either. His teaming up with them now should last at least through the next Block.
I'm most curious as to whether Liliana and Chandra will be sticking with the Gatewatch.
