Hidden Lore or Flavour Text Mistake?

I present you with the flavour text of Golgari Signet that I noticed while submitting the C15 cards.
Now what I want to point out is the very specific mention of "one who has sold her soul". It's not his or her, just her. Is this a reference to a specific character or is this just a small little mistake that the editors didn't catch? ... Didn't catch numerous times that is, as the same exact same flavour text appears in the C15 printing.

Liliana has never been green and I don't think she ever will. The Golgari represent something quite different entirely.

I can imagine that it would be related to a planeswalker, given that, could it possibly be about vraska?

Vraska would have to be immortal ... and I don't know the lore of her well enough to state anything about that assumption. It is the closest I can think of if this isn't a repeated mistake.

Well on the image itself you can sort of see a person with long hair with 2 things that look like ghosts on "her" (or his) left and right.
So maybe it really is just about what we can see and not about a particular person.

That's just the golgari symbol. If you look at the golgari symbol, it looks like a girl with two "ghosts" on her side.Look at this picture. Not the green outline, but the white on the inside. Doesn't it look like two ghosts on the side of something maybe?

The brown/white contrast on the signet could be seen as someone holding up his/her arms with what looks like ghosts on the left and right holding the raised arms.
(I know, I have a twisted mind and am getting tired...)

I'm going to guess it refers to Savra, Queen of the Golgari considering this is the same flavor text that the original had, and the golgari symbol is different.
(also, it is an insects head)

I think the Golgari symbol being different has nothing to do with this, as every clan symbol was upgraded from the old ravnican block when RTR came out. And yes, the Golgari symbol is an insect's head.
However, 1empyrean's guess of Savra, Queen of the Golgari does seem to be the best one so far. Anyone know any lore gurus around here?

Maybe it's referring to Garruk and Liliana. Garruk the proud guardian of nature and Liliana the one who sold her soul.

None of which have anything to do with the Golgari The2kman, especially at the time of the Ravnica, City of Guilds posting.

Has anyone considered the commander of the deck, Meren of Clan Nel Toth? She was originally a life shaman, but then became a necromancer instead.
Makes the most sense since she is the head of the deck, and also she had an Uncharted Realms about her.

@1empyrean I agree that they are just carrying over the flavortext, but she also makes sense as an another person who it could refer to. (this is just me trying to justify the fact that I skimmed the thread rather than reading all the posts)

On this website, it shows on the side "golgari champion". Savra, Queen of the Golgari is both champion and leader. I know that it says she's now deceased, but when clicking on her hyperlink, out says she was the matka for two hundred years. I think this is probably the closest thing that the signet is relating to.

Femme_Fatale it's the same flavor text used in the Izzet v Golgari deck printing
If we're gonna talk about lore, we need to go back a couple years

Femme_Fatale Then what Savra and Jarad? They're brother and sister. Both have been and are the leader of the Golgari. Referring to the flavor text Jarad might have started out green ending up black while his sister was black ending up green. Then that would be the "perspective", both starting at different beginnings and ending at the same place (Golgari).

I agree that Savra seems like the best bet, but I will mention that Liliana was referenced in another golgari-coloured card, specifically Grim Backwoods. It doesn't really have much meaning obviously I just thought it was noteworthy

I'm guessing it's a specific reference to Liliana...
