I have an opportunity to buy Growing Rites of Itlimoc for $13. Is it worth it at this price? It was $20 before release. At what point would you buy it? I could really use the pseudo cradle in my Azusa deck but can't justify spending $250 for a piece of cardboard.

I would take the chance in buying it, I can see it maybe drop to $10, but its not too much of a difference and I in your case would rather acquire one now rather than later regret missing out on one at or near the current price. I could be wrong, but I think it will stay around the $10 range at least just because of edh. Who knows something may even drive it back up in price like if it sees any standard play etc.

On a side note, I myself have 2 Growing Rites of Itlimoc actually, a regular and a prerelease prerelease promo :)

I will be using these for edh most likely.

I am jealous of the pre release promo you mentioned. I really wanted a foil one. its hard to pass it up.

I don't play standard so personally I'd wait until it rotates out then buy and build modern. If I cracked one in a pack I'd sell it. The usual... buy a box (or 2) sell all the valuable cards (make $ back) then re-buy them later.

I don't p,any standard either and I won't be using this in modern at all, Just edh.

Also I have shit luck with boxes. I no longer buy boxes or packs, I've wasted too much money cracking packs.

I'm in agreement, despite being really good for my Sliver Overlord edh deck, there's no way i'm likely buying a Gaea's Cradle, and so this promo Growing Rites of Itlimoc is going right in that deck. Then the other is likely going in my more casual Kruphix, God of Horizons edh deck. On a side note i'm also quite glad Mana Drain is being reprinted so I can grab one of those too hopefully!

Don't get me started on iconic masters haha. This is gonna be a set where I might as well just give them my wallet.

Growing Rites of Itlimoc is dropping like its hot. Don't get it for $13 because it'll be $10 in a week and will keep decreasing as more people realize the strongest decks are probably just Ramunap Red, Energy, Gift, and Approach.

I'd say grab it at $13. It's not that expensive and may go up more.

As for Iconic Masters, I'm really hyped but I also have terrible luck in packs xD

Good luck with that!

I expect it to go under $10. And as supply increases, I may even be lucky enough to snag it at $5 and justify it as budget.

TCG already has it at $10 and is starting to dip under that. I would just wait a little more or buy now from TCG since they have a lot at the $10 mark

It quite possibly see play in modern elves. It won't see standard play and will drop the set is brand new and gonna be opened a fair bit meaning it will come down in price. Edh can drive the price up after the set rotates.
