Let's Break Sidisi in EDH

Deck Help forum

Posted on Sept. 2, 2014, 1 a.m. by KindredDiscovery

About 10 seconds after Sidisi, Brood Tyrant was spoiled I retooled my Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord EDH deck and put her at the helm. I only had time for some moderate tweaking, and I only added cards I already had. But I want to absolutely break this card. I want my opponents to shiver when she comes out. I want to inspire fear. We're in the best colors in EDH, we've got some readily apparent synergies, and we've got an ample budget. No holds barred!

So please, beloved community, assist me in this noble endeavor. I want to hear every suggestion you've got. I want you to critique every weak spot you can find. I want to make this deck a savage, ruthless, beauty. Here's what I have so far:

Get to it! (And thank you!)

Personally I would focus it more on dredge and graveyard recursion. I would want most of my cards useful even in the graveyard. For example Bloodghast and Vengevine would be pretty good.

Blue also has a lot of useful card draw that work well (draw x, discard x). For example Careful Study and Careful Consideration .

@aFriendlyAlly: I think Bloodghast and Vengevine are great options. I'll be working to incorporate them into the deck. I'm not as convinced about Careful Study and Careful Consideration though. I'd like to have things entering the graveyard from my library, not my hand. Cards like Buried Alive seem like the way to go here.

Yeah, I can see that. I was just planning to make my own Sidisi utilizing discard. Because discarding graveyard synergy cards isn't really losing card advantage. So for a deck that runs graveyard recursion/synergy, Careful Consideration just says "Draw 4" to me", as the cards you throw shouldn't be dead cards. I'm personally planning to run exclusively cards that can be used in the grave, such as dredge and scavenge.
