5 days after release

And still no commander 2016 decks at any big box store within 100 miles of me. They have PLENTY of cmdr 2014. Yes, 2014, but no 2016. The only LGS around here is selling them only as a set of 5 for $300. The nearest Walmart that is selling any of the 2016 ones is an hour over the state line.

What's up with this release? You would think all walmarts would have it if one does. Same with Target. None available within 100 miles.

All 5 decks for $300? That's friggin' highway robbery. At $200 I would have said they are being unreasonable.

I know how you feel, though. My Walmart and surrounding big box stores tend to be 2 weeks to a month behind. There was one store in my area that had them, and we were all lined up waiting for the delivery truck.

Wow. MSRP on those 5 is only $175, and you'd think you'd be getting a discount for buying them all together, not a more than 70% increase. Highway robbery indeed.

Just give it time, most stores don't stock the most recent products the second they come out and any that are stocked at local stores will instantly go at the beginning due to the hype.

BabyK,
Not trying to be a commercial here, but Massdrop has all 5 for $119.99 and Amazon has them for $144.95.

clayperce I had thought about buying online, but I have trouble with deliveries. Three things I've ordered this year have become lost as soon as the shipping made it to this city. I'm convinced my delivery driver steals them.

The guy that runs the lgs here is a really nice guy and has always been fair...but he knows he is the only one in stock and that we have a huge player base here. I'd really like to know why walmart doesn't have this set stocked but Kaladesh was out the day before release. When I tried asking if there was just a pallet sitting in the back that I could pull from, the CSR had no idea what I was talking about by saying Magic the Gathering Commander 2016 set

I just checked around my area, and no WalMart within a 30 mile radius has it. Maybe WalMart really hasn't shipped them to the stores yet?

Target?

Get insurance on the package and order online. That way, if they get stolen/go missing you lost little to nothing but time.

Wal-Mart doesn't stock MTG or similar stuff usually. They rent out shelf space to local suppliers that manage it themselves. This is why they do not inventory the things on those shelves (many people wonder why they sometimes see "DO NOT INVENTORY" signs on the MTG shelves).

A lot of those guys also do a lot of trading online (some also run a LGS) so they often will, with Commander products, sell them online at significant markup before stocking the shelves. I've seen them seen them only stock the shelves with the ones that aren't selling above MSRP too in the past. Keeping those shelves stocked is a secondary objective for many of them.

That's just in general though. The guys that rent the space are always "local" (for various definitions of local) so you get a mixed bag.

Amazon Prime them. If they get lost, Amazon will make good. They've overnighted me stuff that my USPS carrier lost to make up for it.

I got mine at Meijer. Not sure if you have Meijer near you but they had all of them the day of launch.

Its really a store by store thing. A lot of the stores have them but they just haven't gotten around to stocking them yet. Target sometimes wouldn't have new product by me for over a week.

Target has some deals dropping 1 day only 11/19. Check cartwheel for 30% off. I think it is in-store only. Should be under "toys" category.

nobu_the_bard said what I would have said-ish

Walmart employees don't stock those shelves. It's all up to distributors. They make a mark-up and Walmart makes a mark-up. I doubt there's any rules as long as they aren't empty i.e. time and product choice

Try insured delivery, or postal delivery which you can track...companies are less prone to steal stuff if you are able to track it (accountability is a thing :) .
