Tutor of Tomorrows

So I had this rather douchey idea of what if it was my turn every turn, and came up with this. A Maralen of the Mornsong and Beacon of Tomorrows combo. Once the combo's out, it's my turn every turn, and since blue and black offer a number of unblockables it's a solid win when it gets out. It's still in prototype and incomplete, but dimir is not my strong suit, so any advice would be helpful.

Speed is a bit of a concern for this.

Actually, I would say that this would have worked if Maralen of the Mornsong could have been your commander, because you would have been able to ramp, then cast her. But what you need to know is that you are not the first to benefit from Maralen's effect, and generally in multiplayer people are gonna go and get things to get rid of your combo, especially if they know you will do it. And also it is not infinite because every turn you take will cost you 3 life...

thegigibeast Understood, I've played a lot of maralen to know it's a target. And if I can get decent enough damage, 3 life won't matter and Exquisite Blood can easily resolve the issue.

But if Maralen of the Mornsonghad been both /, she would have been really better.

People tend to hate Maralen a lot only because of the combo deck with her... She can make it for a great group hug (in mono-black?)/group slug commander if your playgroup know that you are not going to do anything evil with her, like it happens in my playgroup with the Maralen of the MornsongEDH deck my friend built. It is really budget, there is no one shot kill combo nor infinite combos. It is just meant to be fun, and it is a great opponent to a Phelddagrif deck I built!

Also, something to note is that infinite turns doesn't necessarily mean a win. This often makes it so that players are forced to watch you magisturbate by yourself for some 10+ turns to see if you can actually pull it off. If you're playing combo, it's better to have something that legitimately ends the game on the spot. Also, any combo that gives other players the chance to fetch answers for said combo is pretty booty.

I used to run an Intet top deck manipulation deck where I could regularly cast things like Time Stretch off the top of my library and recur it for something like 15+ turns. No one enjoyed playing against the deck. They much rather play against my other combo decks. They even said they'd rather play against my Brago mana denial deck where I aim to prevent all untapping simply because they still have the opportunity to play even if the deck is better than the Intet one.
