Help me make the cut to use Darigaaz in the Ur Dragon.

Commander Deck Help forum

So I want to put Darigaaz Reincarnated in my Drachen - Feuer Ur-dragon deck. Problem is: I don't know what to remove....

My deck was created to cast Dragons as soon as possible with cost reductions. I still can't add this cooldragon because it still seems it won't work well with the mana curve I developed for this deck.

Any tips?

Cut Dreamstone Hedron. Same CMC, but you don't need the ramp that badly, I think.

When I'm looking for a cut, I just play the deck with that in mind. When you get a dead draw, that should be sideboarded and you can experiment with your new card

That's just my 2 cents.

Good luck!

Darigaaz reincarnated is bad in commander. It's death trigger is FOREVER in commander, 3 upkeeps times at least 4 players means its a full 12 turns before you get it back. I would consider running Xenagos God of Revels instead.

Yeah, Darigaaz Reincarnated did not earn a spot in my Ur-Dragon deck...too slow and not enough power.

I would replace Tyrant's Familiar. It's frankly lackluster without your commander out, and you are quite unlikely to have both out. I would also recommend you make space for Dragonlord Kolaghan and Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury. One is a aggressively costed haste outlet and the other pumps your dragons up. You can cut both Dragonlord Silumgar and probably Boneyard Scourge.

The bulk of your dragons are 5 drops with the Ur-dragon cost reduction. In that sense I would cut Dreamstone Hedron, Gilded Lotus, Mirrari's Wake. You can replace them with cheaper ramp spells like signets and talismans to get you casting your dragons more quickly.

WhichKing you do realise I use a lot of cost reductions in my deck such as Urza's Incubator right?

I don't like Kolaghan in commander, I have more than one haste effect and her second skill is dead in commander, unless I am playing against my shadowborn apostle deck or something similar. I used to run both kolaghans and they were never worth it. Silumgar helped me a lot and so did therecursion from boneyard scourge. I've decided to cut the dreamstone to make room for Darigaaz.

Thanks

Both Kolaghans are an auto-include...you can never have too many haste effects in Dragon Tribal ;)
