I've updated it now. Thanks for reminding me.

Add maybe 2 Alchemist's Refuge. Plan is cast your door to nothingness on your opponent's turn so in your turn you will be able to untap and use it. Paying two and tapping the refuge won't be that painful if you have axebane out.

Thanks.

FridayWing that's a great idea. I was planning a massive overhaul of the land base anyway: I'll definitively add a pair of card:Alchemist's Refuge.

As I've removed all black and red cards from the deck, I was thinking of removing all mountains and swamps and just rely on purely on Axebane Guardian and Chromatic Lantern for the black and red mana. Any thoughts?

You have a lot of white mana that I feel you can safely drop with 2 cards needing white mana and 8 fetch cards and 4 creating creatures.

I LOVE this deck's name! +1! Also have you ever thought of Galvanic Alchemist + Axebane Guardian infinite combo? Works well with the Door to Nothingness .

I had given it some thought, however there are two issues with it.

1- It requires 4 defenders on the battlefield, meaning that 14 defenders won't be enough.

2- Without Axebane Guardian , Galvanic Alchemist is a dead card as there is no other creature to soulbond it with.

I'd justify running white in the deck with Angelic Wall maybe in place of Fog Bank if your meta deals with the threat too easily too often... another alternative win-con might be card:Ludevic's Test Subject in the sb.

You might need more draw in the deck...

I was thinking of dropping a Farseek and a card:Ranger's Path for a couple more card:Sphinx's Revelation. What do you think?

Im not sure... you'll need the ramp to get enough mana to cast the revelation for something that isn't negligible, plus card:Sphinx's Revelation seems more designed for a deck that already has consistent card advantage like control. Maybe drop one rangers path for a 3rd revelation...

I really like this deck. The sideboard milling deck is a genius idea, I never even thought of that.

Thanks. I was going for the shock effect. As the name suggests, the deck wins when no-one expects it, and siding in a mill deck makes it work quite well.

Any budget ideas for draw? I'd prefer not to spend $100 on 3x card:Sphinx's Revelation.
